Heading south from Daly Waters, the cold, hard reality was that we were on a bit of a mission to "get to the centre" or at least bloody close to it - and that meant a longish day behind the wheel.   This post really just highlights a couple of key stops along the way.

Rugged ranges, shaded gorges and deep water holes.  The ancient landscape west of Alice Springs is unique and beautiful. Easily accessible, this region should be on the "must do" list for every Central Australian Traveller, and Watarrka was - in our view - the highlight.

There is so much that can be said about Uluru and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas).

Awesome? Without a doubt.

Beautiful? Absolutely.

Culturally significant? More-so than we can truly appreciate.

Isolated and Peaceful? Yeah.....nah.

Struth - talk about a hectic pace.

The 600 kilometre run from Uluru to Chambers Pillar - with a couple of hours to resupply in Alice - was a dead set sprint.
